Going Rate???

Post by HEKTOR » Thu Jun 04, 2009 10:02 am

Im looking to buy my first RS4, and i have been looking at a few but nothing seems to fit the bill.

What sort of money should i be looking to pay for a well spec'd car with 70-80k miles?

My budget is about £15k maybe more.

Any advice is welcome.

cheers

Welcome Eddie

15 grand sounds about right for that sort of mileage, just be patient and wait for the one, with the spec you want.

Happy hunting

p.s You wont be dissapointed these cars are awesome 8)

I'm still a bit shocked that these cars can be had for that kind of money with that mileage! Mine has a bit more, but I would still never consider selling it for £15k.

I paid £26k just over 2 years ago then spent another £4k on it, more still maintaining it to the required standard. So, currently looking at a 50% loss in than time. Not very "RS" like, in terms of an investment. I know the credit crunch has had a lot to do with it, but surely these cars will start to recover in value at least a bit in the future.

This just makes me all the more determined to keep mine. Car is worth a lot more than £15k to me.

Rant over!!

Oh, and good luck with your hunt!!

Thanks for the warm welcome.

And thanks for the posts, it is a lot of car for the £££££ thats why they appeal to me so much and the fact i've wanted one for a while.

What are the common problems with these cars?
What sort of running costs ie servicing, mpg. Hopefully not much worse than my impreza.

Norrs,i feel exactly the same as you i paid over 23k for mine 2 years ago,and the same have spent thousands on wheels,rs6 brakes arb,s,coilovers etc etc ow and a full retrim is being done as we speak

I would never sell mine for 15 k but there are some cheap cars out there and people who have purchased cheap ones will always say good ones are overpriced.
You get what you pay for in my eyes but bargains are to be had sometimes if someones desperate.

Just my opinion

I find the running costs ok but i have had no real problems, touch wood, but if things do go wrong they can be pretty expensive

I get about 21 mpg so not to bad unless you kill it everywhere

I just hope i get a good one, i do feel sorry for those who have paid a fortune for their cars only to lose a large chunk of money. The joys of motoring i suppose.

All look pretty nice,i think i prefer the last one with the sunroof.
The 2nd one is nice but they,ve drilled an extra aerial into the front of the roof, which would piss me off, best mileage on the 1st one.

So i've not been much help really

Good luck
Jules,i've also got an avus 8)
