Just catching up with some news - The EU finally removed the restrictions on how/where cars are sold this week. Could mean cheaper cars etc.

Does this mean I now have the freedom to get my car serviced at non-audi official dealers as long as they conform to the Audi service guidelines??

well I'm awaiting final confirmation from Audi UK HQ on this but it looks like you can indeed get your car serviced anywhere and still maintain the warranty as long as they use genuine Audi parts.
So, does that mean the cost of Audi parts will rise??

OK Audi have confirmed this - but there are conditions (naturally) in that you have to use Audi parts, the service is carried out according to their instructions etc and you will need proof of this for warranty claims etc (which incidentally you have to take to your Audi centre)
Audi will have a press release about this next week.
So at last, the warranty/servicing strangle-hold is broken and hopefully we can start getting some sensibly priced servicing (who wants to bet!!)
Will having a non-audi stamp in the service book affect residuals??

If you had a choice of two cars and one was serviced by a main dealer while the other was serviced though an unknown dealer which one would you buy.
The FASH still counts for something.
Let's hope that the increased competition means that £80 per hour labour bills are reduced. This is the best we can hope for.
But in reality it could mean that main dealers will just give you a better deal if the car is serviced through the dealership network.
Time will tell.

But the Independants need you to keep returning with your business and hopefully will be more conciencious - blah - we are screwed everyway
Yes I'd go for the FASH - if only for the comeback
