I turn mine off when I give it some grief. Makes it sooooo much more exciting!

I've only recently been toying with driving with ESP off... it's a different car in the damp that's for sure! Has anyone worked out a way of switching it off as default? - Be great if you could have the option of switching it back on...

I enquired about this some time ago ... apparently not is the answer. Shame, be nice to have it off as default setting ...

The B5 has a Torsen center differential, 50:50 split, automatically apportioning up to 80% of torque transfer to either axle.
The B7 is 40:60

i like to turn the esp off and give it a bit of welly pulling out onto the local dual carrigeway thus getting sideways a wee bit , it makes me smile. anyway tuesday morning @ 7.30 am one did the said manouver and gave it too many beans thus sending me 180 degrees and stuffing the car back the way i came into one of those sloping kerbs and demounting the front tyre from the rim and scraping the wheel a lot. had to get the spare wheel out for first time in the 7 years its been sat in the boot and do a speedy wheel change in 3 lanes of traffic. i left the esp on then for a day but now its back off again :beerchug: :nogarors4:
