JBR Performance - anyone else dealt with them?
JBR Performance - anyone else dealt with them?
Specifically on a set of ECS brakes they dont seem to be able to provide any lead time on getting them, they have already taken the money, and they didn't apply the promised discount for Audi-Sport members despite emailing them my member details.
Not looking like one to recommend at the moment that is for sure.

RE: JBR Performance - anyone else dealt with them?
Holy crap, dude, you *got through to them*. I never managed to speak to them, in 3 mohs of emailing, phoning and faxing. I decided they didn't want my money, and went to The TT Shop instead - they did an ECS Stage 4 front and Stage 1 Rear kit on my S4 (photos in my gallery, and edescriptions on the B5 forum). Ask JBR for your money back, if you ever manage to get through to them (if not, just dispute the payment with your credit card company, stating that you don't believe they're going to provide you with anything, based on conversations with other people, and the lead time so far), and go to The TT Shop - speak to Justin there, and tell them Rik Rose from rs246.com sent you - the guy whose Stage 4 kit on a B5 they're using for the publicity photos.
They're good guys, and know what they're doing there.
[EDIT: Okay, I can't find my big-brake kit photos on their gallery. Oh well. He'll remember asking me to take the photos, I think]

RE: JBR Performance - anyone else dealt with them?
Hmmm, well I got an email back from them earlier saying that they still cant tell me when the brakes would be here. To be honest it sounds like they are just ordering them from the ECS site and then adding on 500 quid for the trouble.
Wish I had gone direct and taken the customs/vat random number generator option now.
Apparently forum discounts do not apply to ECS Stage 4's either, not too sure why they didn't just say that when I asked for the discount originally as they make no mention of it on their T&Cs or in their "Hey buy from us instead" post on Audi-Sport.
They do seem perfectly capable of taking the money though, through some slightly convoluted double checkout system which lead me to believe they where taking the cash twice initially.

Ah yeah. Well, to be fair, The TT Shop had issues getting hold of the kits too. ECS can't actually supply enough for the demand.
Awesome brakeing setup though. If you're anywhere nearby, I'd take you for a spin if you haven't felt them yet. UPDATE: You're not that far away - care to come to the meet on Thursday 25th, show up for a pub dinner with a few of us in the south, and go for a quick spin and a quick stop?

Taking your money without being able to supply is against the Sale of Goods Act. They are breaking the
law.
law.

They can supply, as soon as the supplier gives them the parts - they have every *intention* of supplying the parts, and that's the difference.
They may also only have taken a deposit, rather than the full amount - that's what The TT Shop did for me.

Nope full amount for just shy of £1500. Biggest internet purchase I have ever done in one go that's for sure.

Blarg. Possibly worth asking them if they have a lead time yet, rather than a just "in the future".

I think they have 30 days to supply or give a full refund.

What I don't understand is why pay so much for a 4 pot kit, we do the 8 pots for £1250 including VAT???

Are they 4s? I always thought they where 6 pistons from the Cayenne?S2tuner wrote:bobbler wrote:Nope full amount for just shy of £1500. Biggest internet purchase I have ever done in one go that's for sure.

From the ECS site -
Complete Kit Includes:
* 6 Piston Monobloc Porsche Calipers
* OEM Porsche Pad Hardware
* Hawk Brake Pads - High Performance Street Compound
* ECS DOT Approved Stainless-Steel brake lines
* ECS Custom Caliper mounting hardware
* ECS Lightweight 352x30mm 2 piece directional rotor
Secondly - I am a label whore and like the idea of Porsche written on my brakes LOL.
Third - they come in blue - assuming that they come at all

Finally if I come up to MRC I will end up spending on more than just the brakes, I have a shopping list of bits I want and staying away from temptation will keep my credit card bill just that little bit lower

If they no show I will be in touch though Doug as the RS ones where my second choice.
