Warning light on dashboard after MRC visit

Post by RS4Kev » Sat Feb 03, 2007 9:07 pm

Been to see Doug today and on the way home i noticed a warning light on the dashboard that i've not seen before. It's intermittant and only seems to come on when accelerating hard from roundabouts. I've also noticed it from a standing start, especially on the M4 junction where i got in the wrong lane (apologies to the mondeo i woke up). It's a little flashing yellow light, i believe it's the traction control........

If anyone has any doubts about the worth of the upgrade to stage 1 from stock, DO IT. The car is so more responsive and torquey (?sp). It ain't never goin' back to Audi.

Thanks again Doug

Sounds like the ESP light (Traction control), mine does the same with little effort even in the dry.
I havn't driven a std RS4 as mine was remaped by AMD before i bought it.

Hit the ESP button on you dash - Is this the light you are seeing flash? If so, it is the traction control kicking in as you've been given some serious torque now from your good pal Doug :)

Hi all - met Doug yesterday

Just wanted to echo the comments regarding the mrc stage 1 upgrade - makes the stock B5 feel like a mondeo!!

It's actually scary now to floor the throttle in 2nd 3rd or 4th gears....

Nice!

me too - accelaration is furious.(MOST TIMES). I do seem to have developed a little problem recently though where the car seems to turn of the Stage 3 and revert to standard! Speperate thread opening!

Right thats done it !!!! Car in MRC over the last few days with Doug sorting out a MAF sensor, new B& brakes, service, plugs and reverting back to stock from a rather clumsy AMD upgrade which making it run lean apprently.

Ive been umming and arrring for the last hour and now bored at work and having read this thread, Doug is getting a call to go for the Generic upgrade!! I wanted to wait until the Exaust was fitted ( any suggestions otherwise??) but what the hell its only a couple of curtains she'll miss out on !!

Dying to see what that light looks like!

Easy sell ! You lot on the MRC payroll by any chance???

Cheers
