Flooded roads and bad drivers

With the recent down pours, the road near my parents house has got about 3 flooded sections (on a wide single carriageway - used to be a dual but with no central barriers).
Everyone is being careful (included me in the RS4) taking turns to go down the middle of the road where the flooded sections are. My turn to go on the last flooded bit and crawling through - followed by a Micra and a Aygo.
Next second coming in the opposite direction is a large 4 x 4 Nissan Nivara who is not slowing down (by choice) and is aiming into the thick of the flooded water - which is probably about 2 feet deep at the side of the road. I luckily managed to get through but the poor Micra and Aygo got completely wiped out by a huge wave, cutting both their engines out! What a complete tool! Why would anyone do this!
