Hi all

It won't happen very often but on occasion I will be putting the kids in the back of the car and am concerned about their car seats marking the leather. Does anyone use some sort of mat or something between the seats to stop this happening??

Yep, thats the one I have!

I also have a rear seat protector for when Macy has dirty shoes (yes, I have OCD!)

Try this.

Get them involved when you clean out the inside of the car, let them work the Hoover and make sure they are the ones who wipe the back of the seats. Make sure to complement each job they complete.
Then sit down after it still looking at the car and ask the following.

1. So did we do a good job?
2. What bit do you feel you did well, what bit really well? (keep asking "anything else" till they say the seats)
3. Are you tired?
4. What do you think we could do to make the job easier next time. (Same again keep asking)
5. Who wants to go get a drink and a sweet?

You should end up with them taking ownership of the task and suggesting no sweets or crisps and finally no shoes kicking the seats.

Eating, drinking and shoes are a no no anyway. I was more concerned about the plastic of the seats actually marking/damaging the leather.

Had three in the rs4 before multi mac and are quite robust

I've done a similar thing and now the poor girl gets upset when the car is parked somewhere other than our garage at home as the car might get wet. She told her mum 'oh no look at that yukky car mummy' when walking past a particularly dirty car.
