Pretty straight forward fault, when the fuel guage just touches the red line but before the range warning light comes on its actually out of fuelIan_C wrote:You couldn't make it up!!!Dave_Hedgehog wrote:my new A6, the loan car, has broken down leaving me stranded in London .....

Thats why I always keep a fuel can in the boot! These modern electronic fuel dials lie and cannot be trusted! Mate ran out of fuel a week or two after buying an [older] A6 - car was telling him he had fuel left but it was dry.Dave_Hedgehog wrote:Pretty straight forward fault, when the fuel guage just touches the red line but before the range warning light comes on its actually out of fuelIan_C wrote:You couldn't make it up!!!Dave_Hedgehog wrote:my new A6, the loan car, has broken down leaving me stranded in London .....
RAC guy (who was brilliant) said it was probably either a faulty sender/display or it was not calibrated correctlyIan_C wrote: Thats why I always keep a fuel can in the boot! Can you spec a larger fuel tank on the A6? I had wondered if it had been spec'd but not installed lol, although it took 81 ltrs .. £120
