its such a different car to the RS

Would have been nice to have been told it was coming ....

Pretty straight forward fault, when the fuel guage just touches the red line but before the range warning light comes on its actually out of fuel :audibash:

Thats why I always keep a fuel can in the boot! These modern electronic fuel dials lie and cannot be trusted! Mate ran out of fuel a week or two after buying an [older] A6 - car was telling him he had fuel left but it was dry.

RAC guy (who was brilliant) said it was probably either a faulty sender/display or it was not calibrated correctly

Can you spec a larger fuel tank on the A6? I had wondered if it had been spec'd but not installed lol, although it took 81 ltrs .. £120 :bash:

Christ 81 litres!! Wish the tank in mine was bigger

I managed to squeese in this much into the RS6 just recently, it had 25 miles remaining on the DIS and has an 83 litre fuel tank if I recall correctly, odd.
