simonjamescars to be avioded

Post by FlyRS6 » Thu Dec 01, 2011 10:22 pm

Hi guys i have just bought a Range Rover Sport and just thought i'd share what should have been a positive and exciting experinece. I bought my RRS TDV8 from WWW.SIMONJAMESCARS.CO.UK and whilst on the surface they appeared to present as decent and honest I've had a very bad after sales experince. The car began knocking on day 1. Rang simon james who said wear and tear (i'd paid £35 grand the day before) so I took it and paid for a main dealer inspection(£65) who said ARC bar bushes shot but more importantly the brake discs are heavily corroded and pads are 90% + worn and a sensor wire was snapped. Rang simon james to say dealer quoted £1100 for brakes, bushes and labour. Simon james say theyll pay £415 but ended up paying £500 so I have bought the parts and paid an independent. In the meantime today is day 27 of owning the car and simon james cars have yet to forward me the logbook because they were frightened to upset the former keeper who is a footballer and it was his wifes car. When i put this to him simon james said they treat everyone the same. Well if thats how they do business then they should be ashamed. Ive had to take time off work, pay for an inspection, source all the parts myself and pay for the brakes (whilst waiting for the £500 refund) and bushes and find an independent to complete the job when THEY should have done this. In addition they know the WAG has a spare key but its too much of an inconvenience to ask her to return it. She is after all a WAG :bash: I have sorted it myself and am for the first time enjoying the car but have yet to get the logbook as its now in the hands of the WAGS husbands agent :assflash: FFS

There's no way you should have paid a penny towards the repairs.I also can't believe you would buy a car without a log book, surely they have sold you a car that did not belong to them if the previous owner still has the V5?

Sounds like a toss company but, brakes are one of the first things you check on a car and i wouldn't have took the car without the spare key.
Thanks for the heads up on the company though
previous- Pug 205 gti, 306 gti, 309 gti Goodwood.
Audi S3, S4 V8 avant.
Porsche Macan Turbo.
Gone but NEVER forgotten - C5 RS6 Misano red avant.

Now - Empty garage

If you don't know where you're going, any road will take you there!
