TomTom gives user satnav data to the cops

Saw this on theregister.co.uk

Would appear that TomTom have been making profits by selling the user data collected from their satnavs to the police, just hope the data is really anonymous otherwise there might be retrospective tickets on the way.

Surly the units wont be associated to the owner, unless you have registered it, but then this if no proof it was you driving. Huge can of worms IMO. However will give the Police a nice heads up as to what areas draw more speeding. Ready to plan and plot a speed trap.
Money can't buy you love, but it can buy you a well sorted racecar
