Where to advertise car?

Hi

As you know, I have my S4 for sale on the forums and PH. I'm looking to increase exposure so I'm looking at Autotrader and eBay.

Autotrader is quite expensive at £30 for 2 weeks. EBay is £15 for a month as a classified advert. What's best do you think? Is it worth spending the extra on Autotrader?

Also, do you think it's priced realistically at £6,500?

Thanks,

Dan

I'm no expert since almost all of my cars have been company ones, but the difference between the two is £45 / month - easily less than 1% of the asking price

Personally, I'd stop worrying about small price differentials, and go with the one that's likely to get you the best offer in a reasonable timeframe

Good Luck!

Well yes, the price is relatively low compared to the asking price of my car, but as you said, I’d like to establish which will provide the most amount of leads and which will give me the least amount of scams and dealers ringing me!

I've sold two cars through eBay no problem. My modded Smart sold quickly and my Range Rover Sport sold in an hour over the phone on eBay!!!! I listed it and went straight to the supermarket and sold it on the phone in the carpark there and then.

I've always had problems with autotrader, takes too long, too many trade calls and tyre kickers.

I still think Autotrader is the best option for getting to the masses. I would never look at Ebay for a car. I'd always go to the owners clubs (for something really unusual) and then Piston Heads or Autotrader for anything else.

Well I've put it on eBay as a classified advert as you don't get charged any final value fees. I will put it on Autotrader next week if I don't any luck.
