High Mileage A6 2.5 TDI ?

Hi all,

I'm thinking of getting a high mileage A6 2.5 tdi Avant as a winter "hack" and load lugger for my house extension.

I currently have an RS6 so I know of the fragile gearboxes, but wondered how the auto in the 2.5 tdi fared? Also, how are the 2.5 v6 engines?

The engines are not too good.. They have fuel pump problems and had a couple with worn camshafts.......

Ok, thx grizz, is the 1.9 any better? I thought it might be a tad underpowered for a big car.

Plus oil leaks, and snapped timing belts due to dropped cam followers.. I've seen quite a few of them in bits.

1.9 are not a bad engine .. With a remap they will go well ..
