My 1st Audi was the AUDI 80GT (100ps) I purchased new in 1975 for the princely sum of £2,800. A year later I bought the fuel injected version (pictured) with 110ps (the same engine subsequently used by the Mk1 Golf Gti).

Brilliant handling, great economy & blindingly quick. The RS4 equivalent of the 70's with Recaro seats too.

Enjoy.

The not quite so iconic Audi S2...

This car convereted me to the Audi marque although I'd driven 4WD turbocharged cars for a good few years prior to owning this car.

I sold it to a guy on http://www.S2Forum.com with 195000 miles on the clock and its still going strong I believe as a stripped down track weapon.

Whilst the V8 rumble of a B7 is great, I personally am just as enamoured with the inline 5 noise which forever evokes memories of the S1.

Nice pic of a car that was really fashionable in it's heydeys, and still.

That 5 really was great, enjoyed it on my RS2 but was introduced to it on the Audi 100 Avant CD5E - anyone remember that?

Technically my first Audi was an A2 TDI company car, amazing car, have bought 2 more since....but here is the first Audi I bought and owned

Bought it once I graduated and kept it for 2 years, loved it....1.8T 163bhp but as earnings increased, so did the desire for more horses!

I have a 2004 1.6 fsi in black. It's looks, IMO, are timeless. Just compare with the equivalent Merc A Class, BMW 1 series. And no manufacturer will ever make an aluminium chassis car at that price point again.

When I bought my car I was looking for a tdi with leather seats, the full length panoramic sunroof and I believe some also had the sat-nav - that was a dream spec, my car has none of those great features.

The A1, IMO, will increase the appeal of the A2.

1.6FSI is a great choice, my gfriend has a FSI colour storm in Misano, great looking car

I had a 1.4 TDI colour storm in Imola. It had full black leather, heated front seats, lumber, opensky roof, x4 e/w, DIS, headlight washers, auto dim mirrors, 17" wheels, cruise control & I had the RNSE unit retro fitted.

The best A2 in the UK by a stretch if you could stomach the yellow...only sold it to fund the RS 4 !

Thanks, really appreciate the trouble taken to post these pics  . Hopefully this will encourage other forum members to post pics of their 1st Audi's

What a great interior for a car of that vintage & size.

Have not seen those wheels before - standard Audi?

I do see what you mean about the colour, an acquired taste  .

the wheels are Audi Allroad replica's...quite rare, but a nice change to the standard "RS 4" type normally found in an A2

the colour! is like marmite! but it quite suited the quirky nature of the car...and amazingly enough, I used to see one identical on my daily trip to work, what are the chances!
