The wife had a tyre blowout the other day. The tyres (Toyo Proxies) had done approx 200miles.

Nasty! Must have been a manufacturing defect surely.

What was the wear on the old tyres like? Didn't indicate any tracking problems?

Yikes, was it a pothole, or did it just let go? Hope the Mrs is fine and rest of the car (+ wheel) is ok.

I'm almost afraid to ask, what Toyos did you have fitted (T1S 96XL?) and what were they like for handling and noise?

is it possible that it had low preasure? that could explain the whole wall colapsing

Speed bump damage? they are known for ripping the inside tyre wall to shreds..

There is no obvious damage on the tyre for potholes etc but I would tend to concur with the no pressure statement - or lack of adequate pressure....

The Mrs doesn't provide feedback on grip etc...as for the type...T1R..? Althought not sure TBH

a friend of mine had the same sort of blow out and the tyre was under inflated which caused it so its either that or a manufacturing defect

Was this on the front or rear ?

Could it be the knobbly bit on the suspension arm ?
