Hi all,

Trying to help a mate out with his Golf 2.0 Cr140.

The turbo is making a really odd sound, it it spooling up well and on boost drives well too but its hissing really loudly. sounds cool but something is wrong for sure.

Does any one know anything that might help diagnose the fault?

Oh and the car is a 54 plate and has covered 104k. He has just bought it so we don't know if its been chipped or not.

Cheers,
J

Sounds like a boost leak - possibly a split hose or intercooler end tank. Best to get it into a specialist for a pressure test. MRC look after my A3 TDi 170.

As said boost leak (split/loose turbo pressure pipe), or a blocked CAT.
