My mate who currently drives a 525d is looking to change into either an S4 or RS4. He has driven both my cars and loves the RS4 to death. Yesterday and to fulfill a childhood dream, he went and test drove a 997 Carrera 2.

His opinion of the car was okay, small, uncomfortable, no luggage/storage space, no back seats worth talking about, felt too light on the front and seemed faster than it was - oh and he felt like a complete cock all the time, his Mrs said she would never get into another Porsche...

Anyway, he was in the driving seat and the salesman in the back, bent over double with his kness around his ears, he was telling my mate that this was the biggest, most comfortable and quickest family car money could buy...! Can you believe it....well my mate let rip and gave him it with both barrels. He mentioend that he had driven a mates RS4 and that he was blown away by the ability, it was far superior than the Porsche, the saleman laughed at him and reminded him again about the oodles of space in the 911 and prestige and the technology...

Do they never know when to shut-up....?

only doing his job i suppose, but still don't treat the customer like an idiot, especialy if the customer sounds like they know what there on about.

Having bought 5 Boxsters.. One Cayenne .. 4 Audis (latest RS6) .. To be honest They are no worse than Audi Dealers or Mercedes dealers .. or ford dealers .. its the person that makes the difference NOT the badge they are selling

We had a great Porsche sales guy for a few years.. Knew us .. knew what we would order, what we liked, treated us brilliently .. teh Cayenne sale he got was by taking me off road and on a rally course in a Cayenne for a day and then lent us the car for the weekend.. he knew how to sell cars, he was 25 and just got "it".. He left, replacement is terrible .. got me to buy the RS6 instead of the Panamera .. Will be interesting to see if he recovers as Sue Box will be changed next year ... .. Gen II Box versus TT-RS .. hmmm
