I don't like the looks of a Focus including the RS,but i think they should drive very well (the RS).

A friend has ordered one for March 09, think he's excited ;) Apparently there is a 4WD on the way.

Plodwyn - what colour and spec you ordered? When is it due?

It needs 4wd without a doubt. My wife had an ST and it was horrendous in the wet, and I really mean that. It got to the stage that if the weather was really bad or she was driving out of town in anything but dry weather she would refuse to take it.

What are they? 300bhp? = 150bhp per wheel.

Even a stage1 RS6 is 500bhp and that only equates too 125bhp per wheel. + in the focus there are 2 less wheels = half the grip available to put the power down (even thought they are scrambling to put the power down)...just my 2p worth

Well, IMHO I think you have made an excellent choice 8) ...relive your youth & enjoy

With the 'revo-knuckle' & the Quaiffe diff I'm sure you it will keep most of the competition at bay even in slippery conditions.

As for the looks - it looks like eh, RS Ford surely.

The only down-side, would have taken the full plunge and bought it in Ultimate Green :!:

If my wife didn't want another type of vehicle, I'd probably have one myself. Had most of the RS's over the year's, live in Essex - so these cars are still in my veins!

Just luv the RS badge & now you will have two on your drive way - a marriage in heaven?

Regards,

Mac

I almost ordered one as well....

Saw it at the motor show in London, looked very nice....

And yes I think I would have gone for the green as well :-)

Decided too much of a drop on my RS4 so will hang onto it for a little while :(

Fair play to you... sure to put grin on face!

@david7m... No way they'll do a 4wd focus, they lost enough money on the first RS focus, and they aint exactly got much money at the moment.

Had a chat with a Ford guy at the Autosport show that some guy with the name wilson (mathew) had driven it and was very impressed. questioned if it was quicker than the megane R26 R around the 'ring and with a wry smile said yes but would not give a time

We both went along to our local Ford 2 weeks ago to see about a new FRS but was told late October/Early November 09. In truth my other half really wasn't keen and eventually said she would have been embarrassed to be seen in it. I take my hat off to the Ford engineers, they have done an amazing job with the chassis, but then Ford has always managed to produce good chassis. But the exterior just isn't for me anymore, the Max Power days are behind me. We are proud to be posting in the RS4 (B7) section now after 2 weeks of ownership. But there are so many cars on my To Drive Before I Die list, and the new FRS will be one of them, enjoy :)
