Bought a new car LMAO

Well guys... After only a month of ownership the RS is going on tuesday. I'm not getting the same rush out of cars that I used to so today I've been hunting for the replacement and yup, been in and ordered it already. The point was I can't be arsed spending silly amounts on a car that doesn't make me tick speedwise and things like that so I wanna tone down, save a few quid and have something nice looking.
Soooooooo it leads me on to my purchase:
An Audi.....
A3 Diesel.......
But its a 2.0 TDi 170 S-Line S-tronic sportback 5 door in ibis white with a full open sky black panoramic roof, RS4 style alloys, Black and silver exclusive line leather, heated seats, BOSE, 6CD, bluetooth, phone prep, ipod connection and paddleshift, spot on

Arriving in a few days

I will

It was a little spur of the moment. I knew I wanted some form of A3 and needed it quick cos I'll be carless from Tuesday but didn't know what to opt for.
I wanted a 3 door but prefer the tail lights etc of the the sportback so it was a toss up. I wanted a white car but something that wasn't just an everyday car. Hence where the open sky roof comes in (again only available on a 5 door). The S-line was a little plain but the S3 was only a manual and I really wanted an S tronic and to cut down on fuel and insurance so as you can see there was a lot of ifs and buts and to find something that I'd still be happy with the style of after the RS was always going to be tough.
The interior was always going to be an issue but the paddleshift and exclusive line leather soon cheered me up so we were part of the way there. The exterior in white is really set off with the full black pan roof and the RS4 style alloys are just... well... the same as what I have now so that was a winner too.
I'm a little :s on the whole 5 door thing but on the flipside I'd always be the same in a 3 door thinking the back end wasn't as nice as a sportback so it was a catch 22, f*cked if I do, f*cked if I dont!
It's quite unique and I think once I take the badges off to keep things looking smooth and tint the rear windows to match the roof we could be onto a winner

Be interested to hear your early thoughts on the car Tilly, as been considering getting out of my RS4 for one of these if the fuel price continues to rise at similar rate. Wife would use it mostly, as I'd use my MV for day to day, but still would use it as and when.
Depressing days - never thought the cost of fuel would dictate a car for me

Really like it mate, because my RS was a B7 it didn't to me feel like the power was useable on the roads and so it didn't get me ticking whereas the A3 you can drive chilled out or make use of the turbo which makes it feel much more alive and fun. I think if I'd have had a B5 RS and not a B7 my views may have been different.
But this vs. the N/A V8 is much more fun, the only downside is that you know damn right the B7's stability is awesome but until you get into another car you don't realise how good it is. I'd taken the traction for granted and find that with this being FWD I have to hold back a little on bends but regardless of that, I'm not saying its a bad handling car because it isn't at all, I'm just saying that that is the only downside I can actually think of.
In real everyday terms on UK roads the B7 RS4 couldn't be in its element, it needs to be pushed on a track. Granted the A3 is slower obviously but you can drive further towards its limits and on a twisty road it wouldn't be as far behind as the cars spec sheets would lead you to think with glorified numbers.
Personally and sorry if this offends anyone, I really dont think the B7 engine is as good as people make out, I found that out on the roads driving at normal speeds not 100 + that the engine really had to be hammered. First to second gear anywhere remotely near the redline wasn't nice and although second gear pulled quite hard I find the engine needs to hit 5k before you really start to feel a pull, it needs to be revved to get the most out of it. I appreciate its an N/A engine and this is normally the case but I didn't find the power/torque to be as linear as I expected.
