Car park scam

Do you ever check the timestamp on a car park ticket when you enter?
No, thought not.
Today went to a car park run by a big hotel company and were leaving just before our two hours were up. They wanted to charge us for the next scale up (4 hours, which doubled the price). We queried but the ticket was right and the customer was wrong.
So, we left the car park, went to go back in to get another ticket (but reversed out again) and proved that the time stamp was 12 minutes out.
Of course we got our money back with a begrudging apology..but how many people had accepted the higher charge without querying it?
Oh, and to add to the inconvenience for the car park operator, by not entering the car park, it left the barrier up in the air, so someone had to manually sort it out! Tee Hee.
So check teh time stamp in futire...bl**dy companies wil ldo anything to try to screw their customers!
