The guy must have thought the runway was longer and could maybe not see the end since it was a drop off.

I just hope I dont have to read about things like this on one of the forums I go on often cos yould be a real shame to lose a member in this way.

OMG! Lets hope we don't have to deal with something like that on this forum.

It's a real shame , i read about it last week on rs6.com . I could not believe the attitude of some of the yanks when it came to the loss of so many young lives .

OMG, that is just tragic. 5 kids dead... speechless.

Unbelievable and so tragic. They must have been touching 190mph at the end of the runway before they realised it dropped away like that.

The parents must be going through hell. Not just losing their kid but coming to terms with their part in the responsibility for their loss.

About the loss of young lives weel I have a very different perspective on that as a Vietnam vet. young people dying who were serving their country.

This was nothing but STUPID people doing STUPID things. I do not feel for them. To many valuable young men/women die for this country, for a cause who get no recognition and are heros.

The scar I carry in my soul for what I had to do for this country in service as an honorable soldier when I was a young man is no comparison for these stupid of priveleged young people.

I am sorry for the family because they have to suffer their childrens stupidity. They in no way qualify in the category of those who died for an honorable cause in service of their country!!!!!!

I can not be more ademant about this. Talk to me when you've had an 18 yr. old die in your arms from a bullet wound thru his brain or when another 18 yr. old bleeds to death in your arms and you've got more of his blood on you than your own.

I apologize sincerely but I have no room for forgiveness with stupidity.
I 've been in hell and no one can tell me any stories.

That's any and every day then mate ... along with bad brain, bad back ... etc.

I'm sort of with the guy quoted in kies4 posting above. OK it's tragic but surely isn't it also totally stupid too. I'm sorry but the driver and whoever egged him on qualify for a Darwin Award - with Merit.

Who do I feel sorry for?, the Emergency Services that had the task of scooping this lot up and pressure washing the tree.
