Always loved the Porsche 993 turbo. Standart they produce around 406 bhp, my question is: what would be the maximum power with a good remap ?? :sekret:

They really hold their value very well, did look some advert and it is amazing especially for the 993 turbo S (450 bhp) a real beast!!! :D

Absolutely <beep> gorgeous car Steph - it's what I'll be looking at when I let the S4 go. Ask Mihnea the question - he maps Porsches.

Steph, if you can get the S, it has larger K24 turbos and can do close to 490 HP with a decent exhaust and remap, the normal turbo will do around 440-450 BHP with a remap and exhaust. Great looking cars, but crap ECUs to work on, 996TT is so much nicer, and it's my next car.

I think the 993tt is the classic 911. Good power & brakes, fairly light by modern standards. It will last for ever too. I have no idea what they handle like though, its one of those cars that just seems right :)

Steph :thumbs:

993 is last of the air cooled cars and will always appeal to a "classic" inclined buyer. I seem to recollect that Autocar recorded a sub 4 second 0 - 60 time, I used to keep the issue until I had a clear out. I understand the 996 is less well built in some areas (prone to porous crank cases) although it is a more modern drive. Personally I prefer the pre impact bumper cars but could struggle to live with a 993 turbo.

Gmund cars are a good outfit and "handpick" the cars they sell.

@MarkB - yea, puke interior!

I see they also happen to have one of these... http://www.gmundcars.com/cars/689/audirs4quattro.html

As for the 993turbo, yes it was the last of the aircooled classics, a great looker, and if you can find a Turbo S in Speed Yellow - WOW!

It was also the first of the 4WD turbos (GT2 excluded), often frowned upon by the Porsche purists but at home to an Audi quattro driver.

They certainly hold their value, as you say, and more so than the 996 :shock:

They are very expansive in UK, it seems there is a lot for sale in France at the moment and certainly at the "ringcountry", The S is top banana but very rare and not cheap. The performances of the 993 turbo are great and it is a 4wd as well. it does look the business even after all these years !!!!!

What's the cheapest price anyone has found a decent one of these going for?
