I am off to France for a few days at the weekend and wanting to hire something interesting, I dont want to spend a fortune, but want something I can enjoy in the roads. I am flying to Marseille if that makes a difference?

Anyone with any suggestions on places to try, please let me know :)

Cheers,

No takers so far mate....mind you the French prefer to support their home grown manufacturers and therein lies the problem - no French companies make "interesting" cars do they?

Lol... well in desperation I settled for a laguna. Most exciting thing I could find without spending major silly money was a megan convertible, but that was sold out.

Oh well, Laguna it is... keeping it french :)

You could try to run it on bald flat tyres....that'd make it more "interesting"!

True... if we are going down that path we could really come up with some interesting things to do with a hire car :P

Last year I had a Peugeot 406. This may not sound that interesting however, it had a retarded engine and did not have enough power to get up the Corniche's in and around Nice. That was amusing to myself and co-pilot.

Europcar rent some tasty cars in south of france, Porsche's, audi's.....but will pay for that it is not cheap....

Last june i did fly to Nice and did rent a.........small TDI Nissan and went to the Monaco circuit !!!!!!!!! ( wish is a public road ) Did wish i had something more powerfull  The good thing was i did nearly 900 Kms on the same tank !!!!!!!!!!! What a saving, more money for the rose and Pastis !!!!

Convertible are great but.......it is so sunny down there you are going to cook inside, not fun at all, just nice in the evening.
