Just a moan really,

I took my second trip of the week up to APS in Brackley this afternoon. That's not why I'm moaning, I received a top notch service, great value, and quality coffee.

On the way back from Brackley, I arranged to see a Mk IV Golf in High Wycombe. It wasn't exactly on the way, but wasn't too much of a detour. It looked hopeful, right spec, right colour and right price. I'd called the owner last night and left a message, and he'd called me back at work this morning. He told me about the car and I said I'd like to come and see it on the way back from Brackley this evening. He said he'd be back at 6.30. So, after APS had finished up, I called the guy and said I'd be around at 6.30 and was that still OK. Yes, it was he said, see you then. So, I turn up at 6.30, nice area, nice road, nice house, the cars out the front of the house, looks like a minter. Knock on the door, guy comes out and said he's just sold it.

What a w*&%$£r. I don't mind not being first on the list, but I'd appreciate being told. If he'd said I've got someone else coming around before me, I'd have said no probs, if he doesn't buy, give me a ring and then I'd come around. Freakin' Hight Wycombe, lovely place, but a long way from home.

Whilst I'm here, if anyone has a silver, black or dark metallic or jazz blue, 1999 / 2000 Mk IV Golf 1.6 SE, 5 door, manual, low (ish) mileage with fsh and A/C or climate control, please PM me, but don't sell it before i get there!

I hate that! My dad had worse - he left a deposit on something, went back and the bloke had sold it to someone for more, so he gave my dad his deposit back and shut the door!!!!!!!!

TBH, that strategy had crossed my mind. I thought that if this seller has such low morals, if I ask how much the guy bought it for, I could probably offer more and get the deal. But, I decided that I didn't want to lower myself to his level, so just told him I hope he sleeps well tonight, and walked away.

His other car was an S Line kitted A4.

Go back up there and scratch the paintwork....no I didn't say that - it was a typo, what I types was "let his tyres down".

High Wycombe...luvverly place .. my partner works there, and notes that the rush hour comprises everybody leaving the town (tell me, what do they know?).

Such a shame you were pi**ed about Jarv. S-Line Ha.

Look at it another way Jarv the car is still there and he has sold it, did he see you coming up the drive and think look at the motor he drives i will never be able to sell that Golf to that man he looks like he knows his stuff he will tell straight away that the Golf has been in an extremely bad accident and is unroadworthy due to shabby repairs, i know i will tell him i sold it.

Come on your liking that better arent you.

Don't mind you asking at all Dave. I recently had H & R rollbars fitted front and rear and replaced the front tyres with new rubber, so felt it was a good time to go for their 4 wheel laser allignment signature dish. But when I took it up on Monday they noted a split gaitor and a couple of ropey ball joints. They alligned it as best they could, but I took it back again on Thursday for them to replace the defective joints and gaitor and then track it up again.

Oh, and ScottyBoy, that thought had crossed my mind. I'm far from some spiritual nut, but experience has told me that these things happen for a reason and, in the end, something better will come along.
