SatNav switchoff

Post by derdle » Wed Jun 06, 2007 10:58 am

Apparently on Friday Sat Nav systems in a part of Cornwall may will become useless for a short while. The MoD is planning some tests to see if they can jam the radio signals from the satellites.

OK - so if you are in Cornwall and your SatNav system goes haywire then you know why.

BUT....if this is supposed to be for military purposes, then any "enemy" missiles in the battlefield using satnav for guidance will be confused too. So they may not hit the intended (military) target and could well hit a civilian target. Built-in collateral damage..wonderful.
