How to cover a car while working on it???

I have been having a look around for some kind of temporary, but substantial enough enclosure for working on my car ... its summer now, so not so bad, but during the winter months I don't want any rain getting in if I can't complete a task in one day/evening.

I do have a garage, but its far too small to fit the Audi in, but I am fortunate to enough to have a rear yard that is kind of sheltered (see below), but still would need something that could withstand some wind ...

I would say that generally I might only be working on one part of the car, ie, front or back, so maybe just to cover that?

Has anyone done this before??? As you can see from the picture, there is a fair amount of room to play with (where the mr2 is parked really)

Can't you just build a canopy of some ilk.

Thats an old millteck exhaust on there!

Yeah, I think a canopy of some sort is the solution ... I have a massive bit of tarpolin, maybe I could use that with some beams to stop it flapping in the wind ....

Extend garage? Would increase value in the long run.

That's where I went wrong. Built myself a great garage but now don't have much money left for my cars :( Ah well, not for ever!

Are you running a dual Milltek or Single 3"?

Corrogated plastic sheeting. If you covered the area over your car and ran it from the higher roof of your garage to the lower height of the left hand wall, you wouldn't need to worry about guttering as the rain water would run off over your neighbours side

How about using a pit/paddock style gazebo/tent? Not sure where you'd get them from though.

So stop spunking on your car and spend money on something that will give you a return (+ I can catchup to your pace then if you stop upgrading) :P
