How many points have you got?

Just picked up my first 3 this evening. Unmarked car. All things considered I think I'll take the 3 points and the £ 60 hit.
I'm not proud of it - especially after ribbing the "outlaw" for collecting 3 points for doing 45 in a 30.
Very reasonable member of the plod force I must say.

Sorry to hear that Paul. Picked all my 6 up doing ridiculously minor mph above 30 and not paying attention to the speed cameras. Origin has covered that base for me now.

Cheers Mike.....I'm taking it philosophically on the chin!

Its very frustrating when 3 of your 6 are for doing 35 in a 30 going past a camera I've lived with for over 10 years. . . . .in a diesel car Paul as well

It wasn't another Octavia RS was it this time? Anyway sorry to hear it.
I just get increasingly resentful of speed camera tickets these days. Its nothing to do with road safety and everything to do with making money and appearing to be concerned about road safety. I have 6 points and have never had an accident in my life or caused one. I occsionally drive fast but always in keeping with the road conditions at the time and with a degree of responsibility- never recklessly. Everyday I see t*ssers driving badly and dangerously but where are the measures to deal with these people who cause the majority of accidents? I would be more than happy to see more patrol cars out and about stopping people for poor driving etc. I will always maintain it isn't speed which kills but poor driving. Right off my soap box now

The first 3 are very painful, the next 3 are less so. Not sure how I’d feel about 9 points, being 3 off a ban. Hopefully I won’t have to find out! 3 of mine are coming off in September anyway.
Where did you get done Paul? A10?

Bad luck Paul!
I did have 6 for careless driving (for pulling a wheelie on a ZX9R), but they are off now, however I did get caught again in 2005 doing 115 on the M23

No points, but 28 day ban and £350 fine. Ouch! Poxy unmarked silver Mitsubishi Evo 8, thought he wanted a race.....

SteveH..watch out. I only ribbed bakerdcb a week ago ... and look whay happened to me. Ho hum, at least it was a proepr traffic cop in a half decent car - a Volvo T5 rather than a roadside camera.
Quite agree with bakerdcb though - I see a lot of appalling driving everyday and they don't get pulled, I was fast but perfectly respectable driving.
It was on the A10 - the recently opened section from Puckeridge to Hertford....7 miles of perfect dual carriageway with no side junctions and perfect visibility and great curves and swoops. You could safely do welll over 150 mph down there.

Be careful of the A10
Not a good road to be doing test runs on.
theres many unmarked cars down the whole stretch. Mostly being Passats, Volvos, and 5 series estates. bmw 530 d saloon cruising the A10, seen them stop someone once. See them now and again in that area.

Actually, the A10 is a favourite road for the Hendon police driver training school to use....they often use the road for high speed cat and mouse "games" and do 150mph (or maybe more?). The latest cars seem to be beemer 530d's (I've seen two green ones "playing" before and wondered if I could join in the game.
Also watch out for the unmarked Octavia VRs's !!

Just realised...although it was a Volvo the "running lights" were de-activated. So if you see a Volvo without the headlights on..be afraid...be very afraid!

We're going to Devon over the weekend too ... going down in my "outlaw's" Metro GTi (little pocket rocket) and coming back in my better half's Mini.

I've managed to keep my clean now for the last 6 years including one or two case's of ignorance which is quite amazing with 2 bikes to play on for my daily commute
