Sign of the times ?

I've just bought a Renault Espace to replace our old Renault Espace (which has done 245,000 miles and never let us down).

New one has 17 inch wheels. How should I feel about that ? :)

245k :notworthy: Petrol or diesel?

As for 17inch rims, I feel embarrassed because my car has those, and at the time of buying the car I thought they were huge and wondered how much the tyres were going to be ....

Those were the days. Do you remember Supervan & Supervan 3 as well ?

The ford Transit equivalent? If so, yes I do. I think that the Ford ones were a bit over the top though!

My god 1971.... That's quite radical for Ford, must have been the LSD at the time that was going around.

The Espace just looks so ridiculous, I'd love to see one on a road and just destroy everything in it's path with a family in the back grinning insanely

Just out of interest the Ford Supervan was basically a lightweight body shell dropped onto a Group C sportscar!

And David are we thinking of looking for some 18" wheels?

Yes, the last one was with that Cosworth HB (not their finest engine sadly). Who remembers Beatrice ?

Dunno on the wheels, I have a large 'collection' of 17's. Perhaps if I find some light ones.

Presume you are referring to the Beatrice Ford F1 Team, not AJ's finest hour poor bloke!

If the ET and PCD is OK, you could use them on your S4 for track days in an emergency, David...

Ha ha, I'll look at that, they are 5 stud for sure :)

I still like the B6 S4 wheels to be honest.
