B6 A4 Audi 1.8T AVJ Engine Please Help!!!

Basically the oil pump failed in my mates 1.8T whilst we were doing 80mph on the M1. He's had the car taken to our local specialist and yes the engine is knackered.....

One of the rods has gone right through it and all internals are completely fcuked. So he now needs a new or recon engine.

Hence why i'm posting this, to see if any of you fellow Audi buddies can come up with anything positive.
