What should she buy?

Had our company accountant on the phone earlier today asking for some car buying advice.

she's currently driving an SLK Merc but due to circumstance she wants to downgrade and asked what i thought she should buy. she's about 30 and obviously wants something sporty and stylish to replace the Merc but unfortunately she has a budget of only £5-6k.

any suggestions?

Well one car that springs to mind is an S3 if she can up the budget a bit, although maybe an A3 1.8t quattro or summat topless

If it's a company car she'll be worried about emissions and tax!
But £5 - £6k won't get her much, a Fiesta maybe but not a MINI.

The cheapest Mini One from a stealer is nearly 7 grand...Coopers are more expensive. Cheapest Mini one on Autotrader was £ 6000.

How about a gsxr 600 thats sporty !!! You can pick up a new shape beetle for that sort of money i only say this as my missis had 1 and there not 2 bad but there definatly a birds car ! all they are is a golf thats got beetle shell on everything else is a golf so you know everything is right!! also have a look at the leon cupra or fabia vrs

thanks guys, some food for thought there. she doesn't get a car allowance so it's a private purchase. unfortunately she's got to pay her ex for his half of the house so moneys a bit tight hence the low budget.

i had a bit of a list that included Celicas, MR2's and MG TF's. the beetle sounds a stylish option as do the cupras
