Stuff both of those places. Tescos are doing 99 Ron fuel. Optimax is dead as far as I'm concerned and the tesco petrol is cheaper than optimax.

Optimax still out performs Tesco 99 - and Tesco 99 seems quite hard to get hold of. most importantly - performance aside - optimax is the safest fuel!

all petrol nearby has gone up 4-5p per litre. I think it was put up because of the bank hol with everyone on the road over the weekend.

Evo ran a test a few months ago, but I reckon there were also other factors which weren't taken into account when they did test runs with each type of fuel.

OMG Tesco 99? You'll be puttin remoulds on her next cheaper don't you know but are they as good as the real thing? Give your car the best and sometimes yes the best does cost a lil more but thats just the way it is.
Tesco fuel is cheaper because it will be a poorer quality fuel without the performance advances and quality that Ultimate and Optimax have, despite its octane level. IMHO.

Indeed. Optimax, I believe is still marketed and sold as a
BS EN 228 fuel (i.e. Premium) and not BS 7800 (SUL) - why is
this?
It's also important to remember that whilst advance is good,
you also need to consider:
Calorific value of the fuel.
Speed at which the fuel burns.
How much of the fuel is burnt.

In light of my previous post I am not however closed minded and if anybody can convince me or prove with evidence what is the best fuel to be using them I'm willing to listen
