I went out for a drive anyway -- and ended up in blackpool !! -- so all in all I've covered just over 200 miles today - and all I can say is WOW!
I havnt pushed it yet (obviously) but the pickup is really impressive and the ride is stiff but not harsh - from what I can tell so far, it looks like the handling is going to be very secure.
Am I happy -- You bet !!

Very nice. Was in your place this morning getting the window motor replaced. How was Geneva?

Geneva was fantastic, very busy but MUCH better than any of the UK shows.

Yup, that would be good.

I'm hoping the suspension will settle - it had only done 25 miles when that picture was taken.

Had a run upto Blackpool last night to see my uncle -- a very nasty night, was thankfull for the xenons and auto-wipers, it's now done just over 250 miles and feels great !!

Respect Dave. Lovely car and lovely colour. Was thinking about the same myself but as an estate, and maybe leather too (as long as it's not perforated). Just wondering about an RS diesel though (any news?) or maybe the 4x4 when it comes out as a 140. Had a great trip to Mlada Bolosev with Skoda a few years back. I'll PM you when I've read my Treg VIN.

Cheers

Adam

Good looking car, can,t knock em, I love the clean un-fussy dash.

The old bill use them down here in Hampshire as un-marked motorway cars, they really rate em.

Skoda will be bringing out a Diesel vRS later this year - probably Sept.
It will use the 170bhp 2.0TDi engine currently doing the rounds in the Golf/Passat

Great car Dave, not sure if i prefer it as much as an S4 but i sat in one at frankfurt motorshow and the gear box felt very nice and the dials looked very cool! How much if you dont mind me asking?

With the spec listed above --- just over £21k , which I think is an absolute bargain.

So far I have been unable to fault the car on anything, theres not the slightest squeak or rattle - everything works - its ultra comfortable, it handles wondefully - a million miles from the Mk1 vRS that I had.

The only down side so far, was that the valet the dealership did prior to handover was absolutely pants.

When I picked the car up I had my rosetinted specs on -- when I cleaned the car this weekend - there was polish left all over the place - in door jams , against seals, in the badges -- still I've just placed an order with polished bliss -- so I'll be able to bring it up to top spec -- or at least I will when the weather gets a bit better
