RS3

Post by K2 » Mon Feb 27, 2006 3:08 pm

Found an article on the new RS3, which they expect will be ready for sale mid 2006. If that is true it will proably be ready before some people have their new RS4's!!
The enclosed link shows two varients, the sport back and the avant, not sure about either really!!!!
I wonder if Audi will further dilute the famous RS mark??

Well well.. If that's true, it changes things entirely.... and it's turbocharged?? and 35k?

Either way it seem RS is now well and truely mass market, (and mass depreciators) so perhaps RS no longer means "Rather Special" or "Reletively Scarce", and that's a "Real Shame"...
RS4 B5. Where it all started.
RS6+ Never to be replaced.
Replaced by: 997 Turbo. Didn't like.
Replaced by RS6. I like(d).
Land Rover Defender. Not as nippy.
Back with C6 RS6
And again C7 RS6

I think that autocar article came out last year still no official word from Audi yet. But would they really release a car that is almost as good as an RS4 for £15k less ?

Yeah i have that autocar mag which shows that car.

I cant see them making it really.

The S3 is taking long enough to come out so I cant see them making a RS3 really.

If they do, i think they really are making far to many RS models.

I think RS4 and RS6 are enough. But they should have been kept to limited numbers and there should never be a cab RS4.

that article has got to be last year, i agree. It talk about sportback version of A3 coming out later in the year...... it came out last year!

I think that that article is more rumour than fact, personally. Just my 2p-worth, though

When I spoke to Jon Zammett, Head of Publc Relations (Audi UK) last week he was quick to condem the story. "There is no such car planned" came the repsonse. So there you go. From the horses mouth and all that (sorry, Jon...)
