Best Rally Car Sounds

Just watched a clip on the old goggle box that prompted me to think of my top 3, which are:
1) Lancia Stratos (way out in front)
2) Audi Sport Quattro S1 (but any 5cyl quattro is great
)
3) Opal Manta 400 (only just beat the Metro 6R4)
Anyone else ?

Subaru Impreza
Peugeot 306 (Group N car) - seen it at a couple of local rallies

Good call that one, 1.5l pushrod engine producing 400 or so bhp?

Yep, that's the one! Awesome machine and always used to do well on tarmac events

I was at Tesco garage in Sandhurst yesterday and a RS200 pulled in for fuel!
Was going to talk to the driver but he went to pay as I finsihed fuelling
It was covered in 'tiffany. exotic dancing' stickers

Suprised no one has mentioned it yet but there isn't much that beats a proper Mk2 Escort with BDA engine at full chat through the forests.
Most of the turbo cars, including all the WRC's just don't produce much noise compared to the n/a engines. The best one has got to be that lovely 5 cylinder burble from the Audi S1 though.
6R4 is a great noise - as long it gets through the noise scrutineering!
Although it is pushed hard by the 306 Maxi that is currently in the country.

The 6r4 does really go through you in the forests even better was at Rallycross when they were twin turbo with drivers like Will Gallop and theT16s, RS200s and Quattros that was Awsome!!!!!! 7 or 8 Modded Group B super cars racing!! Such a shame they got banned from rallycross too!! Although the 6r4s are back racing!!
