Yeah, I can't see them having a half hearted effort, the R8 was the best sportscar in history so they accept the need to do pretty well with this one.

To me, this is a hugely significant step for diesels and for motorsport in general because diesel power has been ignored largely and Audi have exerted pressure to shape the rules to run this car. I reckon there will be a significant percentage of diesel powered cars across most racing disciplines in 10 years.
