Audi to Launch R9

According to the new Evo magazine Audi are launching a mid-engined 4WD sports car (called the R9) to take on the 911. Due to be released in 2006 prices will start from £50K....

Isn't that what the Le Mans was going to do? Maybe it's just the official name ?

Looks like they can't call it Le Mans for legal reasons....It will have the 4.2 V8 out of the RS4 and be even more rear biased on the 4WD system (30/70). There is going to be another version with the V10 twin turbo from the new RS6 at around £70K
