Hello
Not now but when I have the capital I would like to get a RS4 but I do not live in the best of areas and want to know how likely is and RS4 to get stolen? If I had one would I constantly be looking over my shoulder or what?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated
Aaquil.

In my opinion it is just as attractive as any high performance saloon or estate.
Put it in the same bracket as an M3, M5, X5, AMG merc, R32, etc.
Basically any 25k+ car.
Would you park any of the others outside your house ?
If the answer is no, I'd say the same applies to the RS4.
Oh, I have a feeling the UK cars were all fitted with trackers as standard if that makes any difference.

I disagree. My RS has lived on the road for three years, and touch wood, it have never been touched.... I would however think twice about parking an M3 where I park the RS. Personally I think the RS is understated enough for it to be ignored by idiots, and admired by most.

You could always debadge it and de-chrome it and buy one in avus silver which would look more understated than a fully chromed, fully badged misano red one!!

Phil, I know what your saying.
I think the colour has a lot to do with this as Jonno says. Black / Silver / Green RS4s are more understated than the Red / Blue / Yellow oness, so possibly don't get noticed as easily (unless you know what your looking for).
This has two sides to it though - if it does get taken it will not stand out as much and so will be less likely to have been noticed.

I heard , sometime ago, that if there was a Beemer in the carpark always park near it, koz they will always nick it in preference to the Audi.

This was one the reasons why I didn't buy one myself. Have to bring my car into town once or twice a week. have not problem with my S4.

Being a target and being able to thieve it are two different issues, I have never heard of an RS4 being nicked unless the tealeaves have stolen the keys at an earlier time. I dont recall anybody having a car pinched as in getting into it and driving it away, but I am sure somebody will correct me.... If you fit a decent alarm, and some visible crook look or similar, they will go and find something else first.

Thanks for all the replies guys...what are they like to live with in terms of handling, performance and comfort. Most importantly where would I be able to get one tuned?

they are excellent to live with.
In standard form the RS4 can be driven sensibly, but has the performance to get up and go when you want it to.
Like others here I've had several different cars and the RS4 comes the closest to being a true all-rounder.
Porkers, tvrs etc are great, but not as practical.
big 4x4s are cool too, but don't have the same level of performance or handling.
Only one comment on comfort. The rear seats are not as comfortable as the B6 A/S4, and has limited legroom too.
And then there is the exclusivity
tuning ?
Depends on where in the country you are, but 3 places spring to mind:
AmD near Oxford/Bicester, QST in west sussex, and Star performance in scotland I think.
goo annn, get your checque book out

Aaquil,
You would be very surprised by Insurance, Mine is much cheaper than I thought. Under £700.00 for me and the wife - she is 26.
I park mine in my very small street on the road. It is packed with ICE !!!
I do have a very good security system that is linked into the normal alarm. I get text messages and can disable the car by voice or PC. So far (touch wood) no one has laid a finger on the RS. Although a Range rover was stolen a month or so ago and little burberry wearing pickey youths do break into all the Saxo's and other Chav wagons in the street. Maybe they know that if I caught them I would rip their faces off.
