VAGCOM

Hi All,
I have just bought an S4 (B5) and have a problem - losing power at about 4,000rpm when under load.
Before I take it into the local Audi stealers, I'd like to run Vagcom up to see what's going on. I have the software (latest version), interface & cables, and laptop. I have a serial port (COM1) and try to set this in the options but it won't have it.
I have Scantool and use same hardware and settings and it works fine - any clues please?
