Well dropped off the SL today and picked the nice new CSL. Need to run it in for 1250 miles and also being careful until the Armourfend fitted on Tuesday as CF front is prone to chipping. Here are a few pics:

hahahaha...........now you have sold the droptop, the sun will shine for the rest of the summer  Just watch out when it does rain, reports have it that the semi-slicks are not that good with dampness on the ground. Have fun and as they say in Ireland......'Health to drive' :bigwave:

No problem as it came with a 2nd set of wheels with road tyres on for Autumn/winter. Apparently reality is the tyres arent as bad in wet as rumoured and only really bad when there is lots of standing water.

Very nice car!

If it´s faster than an RS4? It´s miles ahead! It´s another category.

Many M3 owners says to much money for not that big difference but the oposit is true, best sports car for that money.

See yourself!

TYPE Hockenheim Nordschleife

BMW M3 CSL 1.13,5 min 7.50 min
Ferrari Challange Stradale 1.13,0 min 7.56 min
Porsche 996 GT3 RS 1.11,8 min 7.47 min
Pagani Zonda S 1.11,8 min 7.44 min
Porsche Carrera GT 1.08,6 min 7.40 min

and:

TYPE 0-200km/h 200-0km/h
Porsche 996 GT3 RS 13,5 s 4,7 s
Ferrari Challange Stradale 15,5 s 4,8 s
BMW M3 CSL 16,7 s 4,7 s
Pagani Zonda S 11,2 s 4,7 s
Porsche Carrera GT 10,2 s 4,8 s

Maybe somebody knows what are the times of an RS4 at Hockenheim and Nordschleife. I don´t know but I´m sure that it´s far behind.

Enjoy your CSL and let us know your first impressions.

Btw, my favorite is still THE GT3 RS! :D

How does a CSL manage such times against that competition. The Stradale, GT3, Zonda, etc all have spoilers and lots of downforce. How can the CSL corner faster than them? Surely the others also have it on the straights?

Not disbelieving but quite confused.

I think stock RS4 on the Ring was 8.35 min! :audibash:

Those info are from the Sport Auto German magazine. There are no better and reliable info than from Sport Auto.

I think Conti, which is from Germany can confirm that, right?

They do a very detail tests. They measure each corner, speeds at each corner, speed at straights absolutely everything.

Actually, the CSL has the best grip at corners (1.4g) together with the Carrera GT.

Everything Nikolaos has posted is correct!
The Sport Auto magazin is superb, its a pity they don't have the tv programm anymore!
Nikolaos, do you have a Sport Auto test of the RS4?
