Still in one piece thankfully, unlike the poor ****s in the black GT3 that disappeared backwards into the barriers at 100mph at the top of Eau Rouge ! Ouch ........ see attachment if its there, it was a pretty spectacular wipeout. The car's a mess but thankfully both occupants got away with a few bruises - the airbags did their bit ! , be warned JR, they do let go !!!!
Overall, I was remarkably impressed with the way the RS4 went round what is the most fantastic circuit - the TV cameras really don't do the place justice, those hills are steep !
Eau Rouge just has to be experienced in the flesh, this is one circuit I would recomend everone gets over to at least once.
I was able to drive the nuts off it for 150 odd miles round the track, fill it with petrol then drive 325 miles home in comfort. There aren't many cars that will do that without complaint ! At least 50% of the cars there yesterday turned up on trailers.
The day was organised via the Porsche Club so was predominantly Porsche cars, RS coped well but still needs a driver upgrade to get the best out of her.
There were a few Ferrari 360 Challenge Stradale race cars there as well, damn they were fast, also a number of Radicals, GT3, GT3 RS, Lambo, ex DTM cars, Porsche Cup cars etc.
We also made the trip down to the Nurburgring on the Wednesday and did 3 laps, have to say it scared the S**t out of me. Loads of bikes going at it like nutters and a lot of locals with beaten up cars sporting rollcages etc who obviousley knew their way round going like demons.
A tick in the box for sure but one not to be repeated I think.
Damn good couple of days away, will be repeated next year me thinks.
