VAG Recall

Has anyone heard any more about this VAG recall of 870,000 Passatts( and A4s up to 1999 models) to do with front axle boots or something along those lines?

Nope, but I'd be interested to hear any more info you have about it.
For example, what year does the recall start at.

Thanks Andy,

just rang up VW and initially they didn't know anything about it, but on checking it is not a recall as such, just a safety check when cars are in for service. Consequently if you don't take your car to a vag garage you won't get the check...

Panic over fro me, as it doesn't afect my car apparently.
