New Delivery

Post by runrowsam » Mon Mar 01, 2004 12:49 pm

Riz, dude, I have yet to read/hear anything about your new arrival!!! Where is it?! Have you picked it up yet?! Why do I feel so excited for you?!

Seriously mate, really hope you love it as much as you loved the S3, hopefully more of course! I'm so jealous of you mate. Seen a few R32's about and they all look gorgeous, especially in the blue.

Rock on

Wooohooo i cant believe its this good... the noise.

Yes im running it gently, currently done around 170miles.
The dealers have alot to be desired, full report on TSN under R32 section Image

The colour is fantastic in the flesh Image

Right people ive managed to calm down alittle.....

First impressions of the car are more than what i actually expected.

The noise is mindblowing up to 3000rpms which...... im keep below yet for a little while.

The sensitivity of the throttle is insane.... instant punch
The handling is tight
The boominess in the cabin depending on what type of person you are is either exceptable or not... i personally like it
The sound system is also acceptable in my eyes compared to my BOSE setup in the S3. i was expecting it to be pretty bad to be honest.
The seats are very soild and grippy, seats are already sagging which personally think is part of the look/design, loose fit leather and not like the S3 nappa leather which was tight.
The colour attracts more attention than my S3 did but the noise also turned many heads when i was cruising about at low speeds

That pretty much is all about the car, until i surpass the run in period

Now for the dealer service.... ermmm well i wasnt expecting too much but they did have the car for well over 2 months in storage.. how wrong could it go?

Missing undertray
Missing wheel nut cap
Missing fixing screws for the rear mats
Service book never even been looked at
R32 manual binder screw missing so it`l fall apart

**No trianble & first aid kit, although ive now been informed that they dont come with the R32.

***Parts on order :-

R32 Umbrella
R32 Keyring
R32 Pen
R32 Manual binder
R32 Engine undertray

Was a PDI ever done? and the interior was loppy!

Ok so the dealer service could have been better, i would say it didnt spoil my first day experiance, the salesman was annoyed because other people had let him down, hes going to sort all my niggles out a.s.a.p

Riz, I agree with everythign you have said except the sound system being comparable to BOSE. Maybe the 3 months or so without your S3 has confused your judgement? I jumped straight out of a S3 into a R32 and I can guarantee the standard unit was pants compared to BOSE (but then again BOSE is not standard is it)

Enjoy (I nearly did!)

yes you are right, basically when the engine is turned off its good but once your driving the exhaust noise somehow cancels the sound out.. its hard to explain.

Try it with your S3 with say ermmm linkin park cd track 5, first try with no engine running at vol 12-15 then try when driving.... the road noise somehow cancels out the deep base.

Still got the option to change the headunit to a becker one later anyway

Riz

what is wrong with your leather?? looks ok to me

didn't realise it was as much as 1900 notes to add leather to seats in these - is it??

The rebellion has kicked off big time.... apparently the full leather option is not full leather.... so R32 owners are ringing VW customer services and now the investigation dept is dealing with it as it is SERIOUSLY misleading when your not told.

Here is the full story.....

R32 seat saga.
