After a lot (and I mean a lot) of effort I have found a possible opportunity to acquire one of these- -:

I have a reasonable chance of getting it as well.
Several things spring to mind, like :
Is it going to live up to the hype in terms of desirability and exclusivity?
Would I be able to make money on it if I don't want to keep it?
Am I just talking/thinking b***ocks?
Having been a member of this board now for six months I know that the one thing I can count on is getting full and frank opinions
Bring it on

2005 before you can get one? I would be very suprised if the prancing horse does not release something that will compete by that time, but wether it is in the same price bracket we will wait to see, if you want something that no-body else has than the GT is nice, but will ford knowing that the demand for such a car will not cash in on its ability to sell it?
Just my 2 cents.

No- July 2004 actually -
And incidentally they ran off a 911 GT3, Ferrari Stradale and the GT and this was the verdict:
'It wasn't even a contest. The Ford GT so completely dusted off its two highly recognized competitors that if we had wanted to make this a real challenge, we would have had to go way up the "supercar" price ladder. The $401,000 Saleen S7 is about as quick as the Ford GT, and we know of only one car that would surely outrun the Ford—the $659,000 Ferrari Enzo.
Rocketing the GT to 60 mph in 3.3 seconds and to 150 in 16.9 (that's an incredible seven seconds quicker than the Porsche and the Ferrari) was a cinch. Unlike some other supercars that have hair-trigger clutches with monstrously heavy pedal efforts, the GT's clutch was as easy to operate as a Honda Accord's.'

Ah so that'll be an American mag writing about...an American car
I'm very confused about this car actually.
In Top Gear magazine JC reckons that whilst it goes very well in a straight line the handling isn't up to much.
On the TV show he praised the handling as well
Personally speaking I'd take a Carrera GT over the Ford or Enzo anyday
