Not sure I like it in Noggy....

I like it a lot....would be better if it was an x50!

The X50 Performance Pack ups the Bhp from 420 to 450 and the Torque from 560Nm to 620Nm. They put bigger turbos on, uprated intercoolers, ECU changes, upping the boost to 0.9 and changes to the gearbox. Has to be done at the factory and costs an eye watering £8,709.10!!!

I had the x50 pack on my second turbo and the difference was amazing the car was soooo much more responsive and felt much quicker through the gears with a much more usable power band...... well more impressive than a std turbo.....

You can have your Porker painted whatever colour you want at the factory (as long as you can afford it - IIRC it's a £3k option).

p.s. £8k is a lot for 30bhp - G-force want less than that for their 540bhp conversion !

Anyone who's driven both a standard turbo and an X50 will know that it's far from about "30bhp".
RS6 Barry obviously has and appreciateds the difference.
If you haven't you won't, simple.
It's not an MTM £800 "chip and charge" job, as documented above they fit the ecu, intercoolers, turbos, gearbox internals and exhaust system from the GT2.
Believe me it's worth it, I've had standard turbo owners in my car that cannot believe it's "only 30bhp" [img]images/graemlins/burnout.gif[/img]
Yes the cost looks daunting when you look at the figures but I was lucky enough to drive both before I specced my car and I never gave it a second thought after trying one, and I don't believe any turbo owner that was as lucky as I was would either.

That turbo looks lovely in noggy [img]images/graemlins/jump_clap.gif[/img]

And a turbo "colour to sample" option is around £1600.
Audi charge £1700 for an "exclusive" paint job on an RS6.

Having been in a 996TT X50 up the runway at Bruntingthorpe at 177mph [img]images/graemlins/bowdown.gif[/img]it's worth more than that [img]images/graemlins/grin.gif[/img]

I was referring to the stg 3 upgrade which includes the K24 turbos fitted as part of the X50 kit + exhaust & ECU = rated at 540bhp - now that's more like it.

Unfortunately, like most other mfrs, Porsche have to play it safe and offer upgrades which will be reliable world-wide, hence the ECU will not be optimised for UK fuel and other conditions. I've no doubt that the X50 package produces more than an additional 30bhp, as Porsche are reknowned for being coy about power claims, 0-62 times etc...

Nuff said - I agree that it looks gr8 in that colour.

I couldn't agree more Nige, G-Force's stg3 is £8k too however it will immediately lose you about 30% on the retail value of your car [img]images/graemlins/mad.gif[/img]

The used porsche market (and particularly turbos) is very hard indeed on ANY mods not done by Porsche, or to a lesser extent, RUF.
Anythin else is the kiss of death to your resale value [img]images/graemlins/crazy.gif[/img]

Look at the cost of the RUF conversions too!
