Spec C Subaru Impreza

Tantamount to heresy I know here, but this is currently causing me to reappraise the previously (IMO) loathsome Impreza. From the Litchfield Imports site :

The 'Spec C' is the ultimate performance version of the STI range, improving performance can be done by either increasing power or reducing weight. The Spec C applied both. It cuts 90kg from the 'Spec C' by eliminating front sub frames, by thinning roof panel, boot lid and windows, and by ditching luxury equipment such as air conditioning. At 1310kg, it is 120kg lighter than a "regular" Sti. Weight distribution has also been carefully thought about with the larger intercooler water spray container now beginning fitted behind the rear seat panel.
The chassis has also been improved with extra rigidity and the suspension features changes to caster and geometry set-up. Even the 17 inch Alloys feature a special new tyre design developed with Bridgestone.
The improvement in performance is just as thorough; the engine now features a lower resistance roller bearing turbo, Motor sport ECU and revised inlet cams. This all adds to a more responsive and powerful engine, torque has improved by 8.5 lbft (now 290lbft). The 'Spec C' is the ultimate performance incarnation of the STI range.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
At £27.5k OTR this car can be had for just the cost of some serious RS mods.
Got to be the best value road and track metal out there at the moment. Thoughts, anyone?
