Coolant Additives

Post by Cobstar » Mon Oct 20, 2003 12:18 pm

Has anyone used any coolant additives in their beasts, eg:

"RADIATOR RELIEF. Simply the best coolant system additive on the market today. Radiator Relief is for use with water and/or anti-freeze and is designed to function in two ways:- 1) Radiator Relief eliminates problems with high operating temperatures in your passenger car, street rod, racecar, RV etc. The addition of Radiator Relief to your coolant system will reduce operating temperatures by as much as 30°F. 2) Radiator Relief will also provide a 50% quicker warm-up time to operating temperature. This characteristic is not only beneficial to motorsport professionals, but to daily drivers who can enjoy the comfort of heat in half the time for those cold mornings. Radiator Relief provides increased engine life through improved coolant performance."

If so, I'd be interested to hear your views on the pros and cons.

a friend of mine uses an alternative coolant in his track nova, pretty good stuff, it used to overheat without it & dropped the temps by a significant amount. It also stops the internals corroding, which is a good thing.
