Thorney,
nice writeup, but a whole load of the stage 1 pics have F:\\DCIM as thier path, so don't work when you click to view
100 miles on a tank - reminds me of my last bike trip

Sorted...thanks mate.
Once the speed dropped below 85 then we could do 180miles to a tank but there's no point doing that is there

no wonder you didn't win if you took the long way round
"It was about here we got is all wrong and went up the wrong road to Grenada After a few miles we decided to come off the dual carriageway and turn around and came off what we thought was a normal exit. The problem was this exit went exactly no-where - this was the road we ended up on:"

No problem.

makes no odds on the bike, so try to keep it in 3 figures whenever possible. Either that or go and play in the twisties, using all the revs (changing from 1st to 2nd around 55/60mph )
Now that WOULD be a challenge - cannonball run on a bike...
(most I've done in one sitting is Andorra->Guildford ~700 miles)
Did you do any other damage when you ripped the front plate off ??

I know your a bit extreme but surely you can't save much weight by ripping your number plate off....I'm sure the bennifits are out weighed by the possible fines
"The road was so rutted that we spent most of the time ground out on the bumps, Dave had to get out to lighten the car and we ripped our number plate off."

The plate incident(s) we had 2 occassions where it got ripped off was all on tape too
Second time was a speed hump following the M5 and RR, they bairly felt it but us and the GT2 both hit it hard. Fortunately my plate is just velcrowed on so we went back for it, the GT2 had to get another £900 splitter - flown out of course the next day for him

Fab report Thorney You are clearly "touched". You own the consummate long distance ground coverer bettered only by the RS6, yet choose to do the event inside a baked beans tin
There was some great cars entered, including a Hummer, a Range Rover with Nos and the RAF boys in a patriotic MGf:
Any more info on the Range Rover? What kind of power was he developing with it kicked in? Was it the diesel?
Cheers
