Seat Cupra GT with 500bhp RS4 engine

Post by JJRS4 » Thu May 22, 2003 9:43 am

See latest EVO. Seat's new GT racer.

Does this mean we could see the new RS4 with a V6 rather than a V8

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE

last week i spoke to a friend of mine at the quattro gmbh. the borad of directors at audi didn´t make a decision yet. the choices are: 2.8 V6 FSI Twin Turbo, 3.2 V6 FSI Twin Turbo, or 4.2 V8 NON turbo. all around 400-420 hp.

i want that 3.2!

New RS4 must be turbo and MUST be V6

3.2 FSi sounds real good to me.

Leave the V8's for the tanks.

By the way, will there be a saloon and an avant?
Or just one of them?
What do you prefer?

No Saloon. Leave that to the RS6

I reckon the 3.2 V6 would be the more likely option, as didn't someone officially announce that the RS would be a forced induction version of the S? So in theory the new RS4 should have the current RS6 motor in the front. I have no objections to that, but I know where you're coming from with the V6. Think the 2.8 V6 is unlikely to remain, as it's too similar to the current motor. The 3.2 would be the business, but personally, the V8's my favourite. You just can't beat those rumbles and grumbles. As for the bodyshell, it's possible there will be an Avant and a coupe version. I've heard from a chap I know who's got many fingers in many German pies, that the coupe is certainly a possibility, and the RS tradition states that an Avant has to be available, it's part of the point. It's what makes it so special, that "by Christ I just got MASHED by an estate" factor. Pukka.

Rock on

The reason RS's are avants is that's what the first Quattro was - or lift back as the Japs call it.

OK, so does anyone know a german lobbying firm

or better still, does Quattro GMBH have this website address?
