Sod a dog that thing was lairy! Just drove back from my girlfriend's place, and as I was coming along the A331 towards Farnborough, a distant roar. I look in the mirrors to see the usual blue and white flashes of Xenon headlights, which VERY rapidly become a black E-class doing what scientists call "a fair old lick". I was doing 80 (in a Mini, no mean feat), and this thing absolutely wazzed past me. Still, I narked him a bit by beating him through the bends. All that weight can be a burden through the tight and twisties. Had a Brabus badge on it, and from the noise I know it was one of those twin turbo V12's, even heard the whistle and DV chuff. One rapid Q-car if you ask me. What are they running, 650hp? Pah, no match for my 91 throaty horses in the Mini

The Brabus E 600 Biturbo V12 will be coming out (in a very limited number) this summer. For now you can get the S or SL 600 Biturbo V12 (640 hp/471 kW - 1,026nm from 1.700 rpm - 310km/h electronically limited, 0-100 km/h 4,3 secs approx.)
Cheers,
Cris

Hmmm, it was definately a turbocharges V12 E, perhaps the Brabus badging was just for the wheels or something, they don't have to fit an engine to warrant a badge! Either way, what a beast. And that's a lot of torque. What the hell must the prop shaft look like?! It's probably an RSJ!!!

Aaaaaahhhh, but put your foot down, and I bet the fuel consumtion is shocking - now thats not very enviro friendly is it?.... and, and it will eat rear tyres, and its only an auto.. nah nah nee nah nah!

All true, but it's one of those autobahn boys isn't it, purely for bombing along at 200mph in silence, and blasting effortlessly past anything on its way to that speed. Merc auto boxes are pretty damn good though, and I doubt they could build a clutch to take the power! Nah, the auto just adds to the easy-going, but seriously rapid thing that fast Mercs have always had. As for tyres, that's what traction control's for!!! You're right though, the fuel consumption must be SHOCKING unless you're doing about 160mph in top. The A8 my father had used to do that - guzzle fuel in traffic, but at it's optimum cruising speed, about 120mph, it'd get 35mpg. Beast.

Naturally, burning fuel is fun but my theory is; the more efficient you are, the more more time you have to play around on one tankful, AND the more fun you can afford to have Typical piky student tightarse comment there
If you wanna know what HIGH fuel consumption is, check out top fuel dragsters. I think the record (aka the highest consumption I've ever heard) is 38 gallons per mile. Now there's efficient motoring. Let's see what Two Jags says about that hehehehehe

Kenny (this is starting to sound like South Park ) I saw a Brabus SL in sunny Majorca recently. Sounded menacing as it burbled on past, and then like a P51 Mustang when he floored it up the hill. Ay Caramba! Tried in vain to give chase in my Renault Scenic
