Only really got eyes on this today:

So as far as I can see if your car is not compliant (check on the Gov site link in the article) then you have limited choices-use a higher grade fuel (increased cost) or get rid of your non compliant car.
All well and good for some Govt Think Tank to push this through but as always the reality on the ground begs to differ!
What about people driving the (est) 600,000 non compliant cars? Lower income families/individuals? Pensioners? Classic car owners?
That and a new report on future plans for all drivers:
Gas and car bills to soar under green revolution

I get that we will all eventually be forced to go EV. Facts are facts though and we are so woefully behind and the clock is ticking. Charging points in cities is a key point-running cables blocks pavements and in Residency Bays you are not guaranteed a spot outside you house so how does that work? Plans for running cables out of street lighting-what about the millions that live in high rise flats?
Plus the world doesn’t have the supply of lithium currently to meet all demand (and if it did these tend to be in developing countries with flexible morals who will brutalise their workers to meet western demand).
New battery tech is needed and needed fast. 2030 is approaching quick and spotty Swedish teenagers can throw as many teddies out the pram as she likes and swampy can lie down in the road but their wonderful myopic socialist utopia doesn’t translate into the real world.
France found that out with their Gilets Jaune protests.
