Insurance question

Post by stevo55 » Sun Aug 23, 2020 1:59 pm

A topic discussed many times before, can anyone recommend a decent firm as I have to change insurance soon due to my impending Milltek non res exhaust arriving?
I’m currently with AXA and they have told me they won’t insure me with the new exhaust which is a pain but is what it is.
Any recommendations please?

I'm insured with Liverpool and Victoria, with mod declared, exhaust, wheel spacers, and suspension, in a high risk area multi car insurance golf and RS4 £1k

I'm with Admiral, reasonable price and it was approx. £25 more after I had coilovers fitted IIRC.
Also 10% reduction in premium putting my sister on the policy.

Thanks for replies so far guys-L & V quoted me nearly a grand more than I’m paying but Admiral are coming in at around £10 more per month so looking like a strong contender.

I've just been on the phone to LV and they said the won't insure my B8.5. So, I will go back to AdrianFlux at £650 for the very low milage B8.5 and my Land Rover Defender. I did have a claim in 2018. I reversed over someone in a petrol station in the land rover. They had parked right up my arse and I could not even see them !!!

I hope that’s reversed into someone’s car as opposed to ‘reversing over someone’?!

Don't forget that with Admiral (and associated groups), they count a speed awareness course as a speeding penalty and penalise you accordingly. You have to take into account, even if it is somewhat difficult to put a money value on it.

In the end I went with Adrian Flux again. After a bit of back and forth and price matching I paid £620. It so about £310 each. The landrover only has 2 years NCD on it. The initially Adrian Flux was £750 which I think is normal insurance practice.
